"I Feel" Cancer

♋” I Feel ” is the mantra for Cancer which is ruled by the moon, the great Goddess. Controller of waters and tides who was supposed to bring all things to their doom. A collab with @stcar.desire 'v'

In ancient astrology, Chaldeans believed the world would dissolve and return to its primordial elements when all the planets lined up in the constellation of the crab.

Lunar symbolism, on the surface, is associated with receptivity, femininity and all things associated with the aquatic world and its primary element water. The power of the moon plays an important role in bringing us rhythm, cycles, and time. The moon is everchanging yet reliable, before the calendars were based on the sun they were based on the moon.
There has always been an association between the moon and death, there's the idea that the moon received the souls of the dead and was the receptacle of souls between reincarnations so it sheltered both the dead and unborn, who were one and the same.
Most important for its association with birth the moon was supposed to be the receptacle of the menstrual blood by which each mother formed the life of her child.
The moon is looked at both as a creator and a destroyer therefore she was the devourer of the dead as well as the giver of life. In Mexico, she was called Lady of the place of the dead, in appearance like Kali the destroyer. She was not only the moon but also All-mother from whose genital hole in the earth humanity crawled in the beginning and to which humanity would return. For better and for worse we’re all children of the moon.

The cancer constellation and its various interpretations: one of the faintest in the sky, no conspicuous or brilliant star because Cancer is a sign of hiding, of retreat that which has not been constructed. (People born in Cancer are much like the crab that builds its own house or shell, carrying it upon its back. They're conscious of what they have built, they're oversensitive and emotional and ever seeking to hide away.)
The most common substitution for cancer was the crayfish and the lobster which is usually found in tarot (moon card) or older depictions of the sign. Some cultures saw a turtle and a scared beetle (ancient Egyptians). All the creatures mentioned have shells that are attributed to the moon, water, transformation, creation, death, and the underworld. Interesting to note the fact that in Hebrew there's no word for "crab" as it was regarded as unclean and not mentioned. So is the material form regarded from the standpoint of spirit, and esotericists tell us that the physical body is not a principle.
